COMMUNITY FUNDED WORKSPACE MEMBERSHIPS
Part of our mission is to create a more just and equitable community of entrepreneurs and business leaders. In service of this ambition, we built Community Funded Memberships into The Coven as part of our business model from day one. For every five memberships purchased, we offer a fully-paid workspace membership to a person who has applied for access to our community spaces at the Minneapolis - Eat Street and St. Paul - Cathedral Hill workspaces.

Free Digital Memberships for Hennepin County Entrepreneurs
WHAT IT IS
The Elevate Hennepin℠ program provides free technical assistance to entrepreneurs in Hennepin County. In partnership with the program, The Coven is offering free digital memberships for all Hennepin County entrepreneurs. The digital membership includes access to the online community and directory, live virtual events, and on demand courses to help you learn and grow as a business leader.
HOW IT WORKS
Any entrepreneur in Hennepin County can register for a free digital membership. If you are interested in access to our co-working spaces in Minneapolis and St. Paul, you can apply for our Community Funded Membership below.
Your free digital membership will be valid for 3 years.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Anyone who currently owns or is in the process of starting a business in Hennepin County. Entrepreneurs with existing businesses must have a business location in Hennepin County. Aspiring entrepreneurs with a home address in Hennepin County are also eligible to participate. Eligible types of businesses include brick and mortar, consultants, freelancers, and more.

What is the application process?
For Elevate Hennepin digital-only memberships:
This year, as part of our Community Funded Membership program, access to The Coven’s digital membership is free for all Hennepin County entrepreneurs. Applications are open and awarded on a rolling basis. Our team reviews submissions and will notify applicants on the status of their application within a few days of their submission apply here.
For Community Funded Memberships to our physical space:
Applications are open for a limited time period each year. This year’s open application period is from July 24th - September 1 , 2023. Our team reviews submissions and will notify applicants on the status of their application by September 22rd, 2023.
How are memberships awarded?
For Elevate Hennepin digital-only memberships:
This year, as part of our Community Funded Membership program, access to The Coven’s digital membership is free for all Hennepin County entrepreneurs. Applications are open and awarded based on confirmation of your business location in Hennepin County.
For Community Funded Memberships to our physical space:
We prioritize applicants from underserved communities with limited financial resources who will benefit from access to our space and community. Those who receive a Community Funded Membership have unlimited access to The Coven Eat Street, St. Paul, and digital network from October 2023 through September 2024.
If I’m selected, when does my membership start?
For Elevate Hennepin digital-only memberships:
Applications open and are awarded on a rolling basis. Memberships start as soon as applicants join via the confirmation email sent to their account on file and are valid for three years after applying.
For Community Funded Memberships to our physical space:
All Community Funded Memberships begin October 01, 2023 and run through September 30, 2024. We are unable to adjust dates for these memberships at this time.
Which membership levels are included in the program?
For Elevate Hennepin digital-only memberships:
For entrepreneurs and businesses owned and operated in Hennepin County, we offer free digital Connect memberships through our Hennepin County Elevate Business Program on a continuous, rolling basis - applications open on July 15 and awarded monthly. We aren’t offering free digital memberships to applicants outside Hennepin County, Minnesota at this time.
How do Reduced Fee Memberships work?
For Elevate Hennepin digital-only memberships:
All memberships awarded through Hennepin County’s Elevate Business Program are free to applicants who qualify. Interested applicants can learn more and apply here.
Do I need to live in the Twin Cities to apply?
For Elevate Hennepin digital-only memberships:
Applicants for this program must be entrepreneurs with businesses owned and operated within Hennepin County. We aren’t offering free digital memberships to applicants outside Hennepin County, Minnesota at this time.
For Community Funded Memberships to our physical space:
Our Community Funded Memberships prioritize applicants who are regularly able to access our physical spaces on Minneapolis - Eat Street and St. Paul, Minnesota.
