Kickass Instagram Content

You are ready to kill it on Instagram. You’ve read the blog posts, attended the workshops, found your hashtags - now you’re good to go, right? Well, only if you have the content down, too.

As a business owner, good, ‘gram-worthy photos might not come easily to you. That’s okay. Content creation could even sound like some scary, complex marketing jargon, but when you boil it down, it’s really just about taking better pictures. Chances are you already understand the importance of a solid, recognizable brand, but your brand extends beyond just your web design and logo.

How do you achieve that professional, high quality branding on your Instagram feed without hiring a professional photographer?

Here’s the truth: You don’t need a DSLR and expensive editing programs to have an awesome looking feed that tells your story; all you need is a plan, a process, and a smartphone.

The goal of this session is to help you form a solid system for planning, taking, and scheduling awesome photos for Instagram that doesn’t induce a migraine.

Tarot Talk

Tarot.

It’s everywhere but what exactly is it? Why is your best friend suddenly carrying a deck around with them in their bag nudging you to do the same? How do you even get started? Lastly, is there a right way to do it?

In this workshop, Nicole Mayefske of Big Mouth Tarot will not only answer those questions but will:

  • provide a general overview of tarot history

  • breakdown the structure of a traditional deck so it’s easier to comprehend

  • share how tarot can unlock and strengthen one’s intuition

  • guide you towards developing an inclusive practice of your very own

Along with that, participants will engage in a couple of card pulls during this time and will be provided a small activity and resource packet to take home for their own use and future study.

Ayurvedic Wisdom with Haus of Ojas

Ayurveda is a holistic lifestyle science that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. Ayurveda offers a unique view into individual biology through bodily constitutions, called “doshas.” During our Ayurvedic Wisdom workshop, you’ll discover your doshic make-up and explore how it can help you understand what foods, exercises, and daily rhythms work best for you. A key principle of Ayurveda is that if we work with the natural constitution of our bodies, we’re able to create efficiencies, avoid issues, and heal our mind-body-spirit system. Instead of following one-size-fits-all health recommendations, you’ll feel refreshed with a sense of empowerment in making health choices according to your individual, doshic needs.

Running Breathless: Creating Space for Chronic Illness

“Running Breathless” is a short film about a young woman living with a chronic illness. The film came as a response to a lack of representation of invisible disabilities on screen. As the filmmaker, Laurel Schwartz, explains: “A chronically ill life comes with health challenges that are neither acute nor fatal and it is a life that deserves a place on screen.” The film is meant to start a conversation about how we as a community might “poetically world-make” such that people living with chronic illnesses not only feel validated, but also have the tools they need to thrive.

Join filmmaker Laurel Schwartz for a screening a Q+A about the film and a discussion about chronic illness. She’ll be joined by Aria Love, a young chronic illness activist and one of the subjects of Laurel’s next film.
